Add a Touch of Glamour to Your Photos: Idea 2

April 19, 2012

Want to add a touch of glamour to your photo images? We’re going to give you an idea a day for the next few days. Check it out:

Idea 2.) Statement jewelry. Find a stunning necklace or pair of earrings and let them tell the world all about you. Stones say something different that beads. Ribbon says something different than twine. Find what speaks to you and works with your wedding and rock it out! It makes you look unique, adds a spin to your dress, and ties everything in with the wedding colors/theme. After all, you are the bride, today you get to stand out even if you don’t normally go that blingy. Add a little icing to your look!

Add a Touch of Glamour to Your Photos: Idea 1

April 13, 2012

Want to add a touch of glamour to your photo images? We’re going to give you an idea a day for the next few days. Check it out:

Idea 1.) Add a classy fan. Match it to your wedding colors and then play with it in your photos. Ever watch The Princess Diaries when the Queen is teaching Mia how to use a fan? You can be shy, flirtatious, high fashioned, etc You can show a range of emotions in your photos by adding a fan. It adds interest, drama, and elegance to your photos.

I’m in love with fans. I picked up my first fan at the beach a few years back. It’s a deep, dark red. I’m obsessed with it and I use it all the time. It’s stunning!

Your turn. Grab and fan and let’s take some photos!!

Photo Ops You Don’t Want to Forget About: Day After

March 9, 2012

Not going to far after your reception? While some people take off for their honeymoon right from the reception, a lot of couples choose to stay local for a day or two and then leave.

In this case, some couples choose to do a day after session. This is where they put their dress and tux back on and we go out and do a nice, relaxed photo session outside. Sometimes this involves a picnic or a nice walk or something special to the couple.

The couple gets great photos of their special time together right after they become husband and wife. The days that follow saying “I do” evoke new feelings toward each other and changes the dynamic of the couple. These emotions and acts of adoration toward each other can only be caught in the day or two after making that lifelong commitment to each other.

When you get married you’re in a haze of love and adoration and bliss for a few days before you have to come back to the real world again and get back to life as usual.

Many couples like to capture these moments of bliss. Which is why they take day after photos. That and because they still have the groom’s tux at that point! haha

Photo Ops You Don’t Want to Forget About: Bride and Groom Editorial

March 8, 2012

Remember yesterday’s Rock the Frock and Trash the Dress? I bet you, like most brides, were so excited about them that you wanted to book that minute.

I bet you were also wondering if you could bring your man. Good news, there’s a session for that!

It’s called a Bride and Groom Editorial. It’s the exact same thing as a Rock the Frock or Trash the Dress except now it’s about you and your man.

So you both dress up and we rock out some fabulous, fun, high fashion, lovey dovey, exceptional photos of you two to grace your home’s walls, send as thank you cards, and gives as presents to the parents and new in-laws.

We can keep your clothes clean with the Rock the Frock version or get messy with the Trash the Dress version. Side note: the most stunning wedding photos I have ever seen in my life were of a bride and groom in a lake, the bride floating with her groom holding her…anyone brave enough to try?

This can be a stylized session (think The Notebook inspired or Rat Pack inspired, fairytale inspired, etc) where we dress you up, add accessories, and tell a story. Or it can be an extended version of your wedding photos where you don’t have to rush around to get to the reception.

It’s about highlighting the most amazing day of your life and giving you a chance to express yourself more easily without worrying about your hair, your outfits or the time.

And what happens if you want those epic Trash the Dress photos but don’t want to hurt your dress? Simple, get another dress (or suit for the groom) that doesn’t matter. You can get a cheap wedding dress from the bridal store, you can get one from goodwill, you can buy one off the internet, you can get a white prom dress.

It doesn’t have to look like your original dress. You have photos in your original dress. Now, it’s just about looking “bridal” which means a white dress. Grab a  cheap veil from the craft store. You can still achieve the bridal look without hurting your very expensive dress. And seriously, if you’re choosing the Trash the Dress route, no one will be looking to see if your veil is the same, they’ll be looking at how stunning you two look standing in the ocean with the waves crashing around you literally. It’s okay to swap it out…the photos you get will be so stunning no one will ever know the difference!!

Photo Ops You Don’t Want To Miss: Rock the Frock and Trash the Dress

March 7, 2012

Okay, so we’ve touched on engagement photos, bridal glamour photos and we’ve gotten through the wedding day itself. Now the party is over and you still have your dress, one that you’ll never wear out again. Why waste a perfectly good dress? Let’s use it again:

There are two parts to this article. One involves keeping the dress clean, one involves getting the dress dirty. Do not panic. You can choose either way depending on if you want to save your dress or not.

Rock the Frock—this is the non-dress-dirtying version. This is where you put your dress back on for a photoshoot up to a month after the wedding. We go outside with you in your dress and take glam, magazine style photos of you in your dress. You rock out the poses and we have a ton of fun playing models. Your dress stays clean because we intentionally keep it as clean as possible. There is of course the possibilities of some grass on the bottom of your dress but no more than the grass you got on it on your wedding day while taking photos. The only difference is that the session is entirely about the bride and there are no time constraints like on your wedding day.

You can be styled the same or slightly different. You can add bigger jewelry, hats, props, etc. We can get out in the woods, we can have you with a white horse, we can stylize the session. It’s shots that you wish you could get but can’t get on your wedding day.

It’s so fun. I think every bride should do a Rock the Frock because it gives her so many more options AND she gets to wear her beautiful dress again and re-experience the magic of the day.

Trash the Dress—the only difference is that we get the dress dirty. You still come see me up to a month after your wedding. We do hair and make up, put your dress back on, take some awesome Rock the Frock style photos and then we take it a step further.

Often times Trash the Dress sessions involve laying in the grass, climbing trees, jumping in water, floating in a lake, dripping paint on yourself, running through fields, sitting on rocks at the ocean as the waves crash over you…it’s amazing, amazing, amazing stuff!

Either way, Rock the Frock or Trash the Dress sessions are a must for EVERY BRIDE!!! You can only get so many photos on your wedding day. These sessions are all about you, highlight you in your best light in your most important dress, and give you a chance to play and express yourself in your wedding wonderfulness without fear of messing up your hair, hurting your dress, or being late on your wedding day.

More than anything, these are the photos of just you that you will be hanging on your walls from your wedding experience.

Side note: want these epic photos to decorate ON your wedding day?? Get a second dress that doesn’t matter if you damage and do a session before your big day to hang up at the reception!!

Photo Ops You Don’t Want to Forget About: Bridal Glamour

March 6, 2012

Hey brides-to-be! We know we need the engagement photos and the wedding photos and while we’ll get some individual photos of just you on the big day, why not take a little extra time for yourself.

Think about it. You went dress shopping. You tried on how many dresses? You found the perfect one. And everyone will be stunned on your wedding day.

But you can do one better.

Bridal Glamour sessions are so fun for the bride-to-be. They are done in studio (so nothing happens to your dress) about a month before your wedding.

Here’s how it works:

You come to the studio, dress in hand. When you get here we do hair and makeup right here so everything is fresh and lovely and we can guide you to the best makeup and hair look. (This is also a great trial run for the hair style you are thinking of using)

Then we put you in your dress and get you in front of the camera. We take lots of photos of you, in your dress, in front of a solid background.

Here’s what you get out of it:

You learn how to pose in your dress. Face it, you don’t get to wear a ball gown every day. Which means you probably don’t know the best ways to pose in that exact dress. On your wedding day you want to feel comfortable in front of the camera…if you already know what poses work for you and which don’t, you’ll be more confident on your wedding day.

You also get stunning photos of you in your wedding dress that you can use AT the wedding to decorate. There is nothing more breathtaking than walking into the reception and see all these amazing canvases of the couple at their engagement session and the bride in her wedding dress as if they had been taken only moments before and created right then and there and hung for all to see.

So let’s recap: you need a bridal glamour session because you learn how to work that dress AND you have stunning photos of you in your dress to use on your wedding day that will make everyone catch their breath and will make all of your female relatives burst into tears at how beautiful you look in that dress.

Make your mom, sisters, aunts, grandmas, cousins, and other relatives cry when they walk into your reception and see you stunning bridal glamour photos.
