Colors, colors…

March 23, 2011

Colors, colors everywhere but which one do I pick? Some brides know instantly what color bride’s maids dress they want. Others go back and forth. Most importantly you need to pick a color that you like. You need to pick a color that looks good with you (after all, it’s about making the bride look good!) And you need to pick a color that goes good with your living room. WHAT? Yes, I said it, you need to think ahead and work with your house colors.

Your wedding choices are not just about the wedding. Remember, these photos will be gracing the walls of your home for a very long time. You don’t want to clash with your décor in your new home.

Now I’m not saying you have to match your living room colors to your wedding or your wedding to match your living room, but at least try to think ahead and plan to coordinate a little. It doesn’t have to match, but it should not clash. For instance, your wedding is purple but your living room is blue. That’s okay, those colors can compliment each other. You can even throw in little purple accents around the living room to make it stand out. But your wedding is orange and your living room is red. Yikes-that’s going to seriously clash. You don’t want to hurt your house guest’s eyes when they walk into the room.

Just make sure when planning your dress colors and you living room colors that they coordinate or compliment each other. Most colors will work together. But be careful, certain shades will not. Put a little thought into your colors and prevent decorating disasters from ever happening in the first place!

And seriously-plan it right and your photos will look stunning in your living room! Oh the compliments you will receive!!
